It can reduce your appetite and hunger levels by reducing the hormone ghrelin, which makes you want to eat more. So it can help with maintaining a healthy weight. It boosts your body’s metabolism and fat burning abilities. Protein also helps the body repair after injury, as it protein is made up of amino acids…the building blocks of your tissues and organs (1).


Protein can help athletic performance and recovery and stabilize blood sugar.

With all these great benefits, it’s important to try to keep a healthy protein balance in our diets. Not all protein needs to be animal based. That’s not for everyone or every body. Luckily, there are great options. Plant based protein options are wonderful!
